“Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.” 1 John 2:6

It’s funny how many people just do not understand what it means to live
like Jesus. I know it’s impossible for humans to live exactly like Jesus
but our mission during our journey is to be in constant pursuit of living
like the King of Kings. Those who do not believe what we believe are more
common to have false ideas as to what being a Christian means. I was told
that I was not a Christian because I would not allow someone to clock in
just to get hours so they could earn a little more money. She did not know
that being a Christian may mean having compassion for others but it also
means being a good Stewart with your resources and those charged to your
care. Part of the problem is so many of the followers of Christ live lives
filled with false advertisements. We talk like Jesus but we do not
represent Jesus through our life styles. Yes we know scriptures and many
attend church on a regular basis yet there is little to no evidence of us
being impacted by Christ. “Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus
did.” Many of us do nothing other than go to church. We don’t serve on
anything and we do no more than our membership requires. Some in positions
have no real idea as to what ministry is all about. They do no more than is
required by them on paper and they do not extend themselves beyond what is
asked. For them Sunday and whatever night of the week they are required to
do something is the extent of ministry they do. Meanwhile there lost folk
of struggle every day and all day within reach of many of the saints. We
work with them. We have some in our families. They visit our churches and
even sit in pews right beside us. However, we are so focused on our earthly
positions that we forget our Godly positions and what seeking to live like
Christ looks like.

God has given me this ache in the inside for the lost like never before.
I want everyone I know to have what I have on the inside so we can impact
folk through our outside work. For me working in the vineyard is
a privilege and expectation from our Father in heaven. You see I have come
to understand that the gifts and talents God has supplied me with are not
for me but for the edification of the body. God has blessed me with so much
through family and in other areas of my life and I need to make sure that
folk know that they too can share in the peace and blessings of God. God
has been, is still and will be good to me and I need to make sure everyone
I know has the same opportunity to partake in a relationship with the
living God. “To whom much is given much is required.” Luke 12:48. If you
have been blessed by God and you are living a God centered life than you
have been given much and you are required to share what you have in your
heart with the lost.
