“Lord, the God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven or on earth—you who keep your covenant of love with your servants who continue wholeheartedly in your way.” 2 Chronicles 6:14

Have you reached the place where you have come to understand that here is no God like our God? Have you come to the reality that nothing you can do will give you to ultimate control over your life? The God I serve makes me aware of His presence, His power and His might on a daily basis.

When I do not see or feel as though I hear from I know that He is there in His ever still presence. His whisper can be as loud as clanging symbols when we tune in. You see even as I go through a season of yet more changes I realize that God and God alone is orchestrating my steps and fighting my battles. My prayers are like Morris Code where only God and I understand.

Where people come and go and are at times selfish and self centered God always has my best interest at heart. Where people sometimes work under the premise of what’s in it for them or what’s best for them God only works for what’s best for me as I serve Him. My obedience is the catalyst for my journey and my ability to listen and learn is the driving force behind my peace and contentment in Christ.

I have tried many things and confided in individuals yet the only place where I have found long lasting peace and comfort has been and always will be in Christ. “Lord, the God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven or on earth—you who keep your covenant of love with your servants who continue wholeheartedly in your way.” Following Christ with everything I have does not mean there will not be trials and tribulations. Surrendering to Christ does not mean that everything will be alright all of the time.

Walking with Christ does not mean that all will be well 24 hours a day 7 day’s a week. What following, surrendering and walking with Christ does mean is that no matter what, no matter when, no matter how, God will always show up in the midst of my circumstances and always provide a way out. God is my strength and fortress in my most difficult times. When folk promise to always be there God will be there long after they are gone. When folk tell you that they will love you for always and forever the love of God will still be there when that person has faded into the scenery.

If you know me than you know I am a fierce competitor who still hates to lose. Everything I do I do to win and that’s my attitude with God. I want to get everything I can from my relationship with God because there is none or none that can do what God can do. Him. I want wisdom like Solomon, a friendship like King David, guidance through my wilderness experiences like Moses, God’s hand upon my life during my battles like Joshua and to follow God’s lead like Nehemiah. What about you?
