“And straightway the father of the child cried out and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help Thou mine unbelief!” Mark 9:24

I find myself hearing a lot of individuals complain about church, the Pastors, and some the choirs. I understand that church is not perfect and some Pastors are not leading in a way that properly represents the church. I get it that people in the body do not always behave in a way befitting the title Christian. I can see where some folk may have their faith shaken because of things that occur in some buildings. However, this is where you need to ask God to help your lack of faith. This is where you need to learn
to rely on God and ask Him to open your eyes, your heart and your ears to have your faith in Him and not in man strengthend. As a dad, husband, father and friend I have not been and will never be perfect. None the less my imperfections are my own and not every fathers. All fathers cannot be judged by my mistakes and shortcomings just as all churches, followers of Christ and individuals who claim to know Christ should not be the measuring stick for Christianity.

It’s funny how some allow their faith in God to be diminished by the actions of man who by Gods very own words have been born in sin. Most of us if we are honest with ourselves have been at that place where we have had our faith shaken or weakened. I myself have at times wondered what God was doing ion my life and questioned where He was at times. The thing is that each time I stop and thing about His grace and mercy as well as His goodness in the everyday things in my life. I have heard individuals who represent God preach and teach things that are not Biblically based or sound doctrine. Yup I have been in the presence of folk who claim to be sharing Gods word only to be sharing a distorted version. However, this is where one must study to show one self approved. Your relationship is just that. You are called to have a personal relationship with God not a congregational relationship with God. Yes we are to worship with our fellow believers on Sunday but we should also be spending one on one time with the Father.

For me nothing man can do say or do will separate me from the love of God. My relationship with God is not based on others or what transpires within buildings. I am secure in my personal relationship with the King.

What we need to be careful of is the message we are sending to our children and the next generation. When we speak against the church in the presence of our children can they discern between the one church you may be speaking of and the church as a body? Will they be able to understand spiritual authority based on your murmuring and complaining? What impact will your current views have on your children and their children? Will you ask God to help you in your unbelief?
