“We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.” 2 Corinthians

I truly believe we as the body of Christ are in the midst of the perfect storm so to speak. There so many individuals looking for something. They do not know exactly what they are looking for but they are in need. The lost, the hurt, the wounded, the misunderstood are all looking and this presents a golden opportunity. However, if we are showing signs of being distraught, perplexed and distracted than we are not good role models for those who don’t know Christ. “We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.” We most certainly will go through trials and tribulations. We will definitely experience storms and rough waters. It’s not about if we go through or when we go through but it is about how we go through.

“We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.” During times such as these people are looking for leadership and a reassurance. People are looking for hope and some place stable. People are looking for relationships that are fulfilling and genuine. The church has an opportunity to be all of those things and draw individuals and families to Christ. Regardless what may be transpiring around us we need to maintain our focus and remember who is in control. God see’s and knows are circumstances and situations giving him a clear understanding. This is where we must trust in God and in His process. Those afflictions, those persecutions, those issues and current worldly circumstances should not crush us, perplex us or drive us to despair. Who we are in Christ and to whom we belong to can withstand the weight of the world. Your burdens and circumstances cannot stand up against the power and might of our God. “We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.”

“Neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. We cannot and must not allow the circumstances of politics or the world draw us off course.
